Man depends entirely on food :

In the world a man must fight against passions like lust and anger, against many desires, against attachment.

It is convenient to fight from inside a fort-from his own home.

At home he gets his food and other help from his wife.

In the Kaliyuga the life of a man depends entirely on food.

It is better to get food at one place than to knock at seven doors for it.

Living at home is like facing the battle from a fort.
