Everybody sat in silent wonderment :

One beautiful evening, Gurudev was sitting outside his kutiya at his Sidhbari Ashram.

The sun was just about to display his glory.

A lady devotee came with great excitement and showed Gurudev what she had found :

“Gurudev, I was walking along the bank of the creek, and look what I found,” she said, showing a stone slab shaped like a paduka.

“What good is one paduka?” said Gurudev. “Go find its mate.”

So the devotee returned to the creek and before long found a second paduka shaped slab and hurried back to Gurudev’s side.

“Swamiji, look! I found the other half of the pair,” she said with great excitement.

Gurudev smiled and said, “When I was Kapila, I wore these with a rope ... and then threw them away into the river.... then Kapila’s mother jumped into the river...”

Everyone began laughing, but as the lady placed the padukas under the feet of Gurudev, to the amazement of all, the padukas fit both his feet perfectly.

Everybody sat in silent wonderment.

He smiled.
