“Just don’t get attached to your enjoyment” :

Swamiji was serving one of his devotees,

Isabel Taylor,

placing food on her plate copiously.

He often lovingly served others while being served himself.

Sometimes he would call an individual up to the table and say,

 “Open up!”

and in would pop a morsel of food straight from the Guru’s hands.

However,

this time the devotee had already had her fill and said,

“No, thank you; I’ve had enough.”

Ignoring her remark,

Swamiji piled on some more food.

“No, thank you. You know it’s not good to overeat, Swamiji!”

protested Isabel.

“There’s no harm in enjoying,”

smiled Swamiji,

“just don’t get attached to your enjoyment.”
