What is prabala vairagya (great dispassion)?
The answer our scriptures give to this may be a little difficult to accept, because of the graphic example used.
When you throw up, do you examine the vomit or wish to keep it?
There is complete dispassion towards it.
When we develop that kind of feeling to all the worldly joys, that is prabala vairagya.
There is no harm in looking at or going through experiences but one who possesses such vairagya ceases to have any more cravings for worldly experiences.
It is not just a feeling but culminates in a deep conviction about what is Real and what is not (nitya anitya vastu viveka) and clarity about one’s goal in life (mumukshutvam).
Keep singing the joy of Truth in all your actions, in every look of yours, every word you speak, every thought you entertain.
Be in the silent beauty centre within and act to the rhythm of devotion unto Him who is ever in your heart
