Ramayana contains 24000 slokas 

with 6 Kandams like 1.Baala Kandam , 2.Ayodhya Kandam, , 3.Aranya Kandam, 4.kishkinda Kandam, 5.Sundhara Kandam, 6.Yuddha Kandam and Uttara Kandam. 

Likewise in Gayatri Mantram... Om Bhur Bhusva...... 24 letters were taken and 24000 slokas were described.
