Ramayanam  begins with Valmiki going along with his discipline to bathe in the bank of the river Tamasa that flowed near the river Ganga.

While doing so his eyes fell upon two Krauncha birds who were enjoying and making each other happy.

A cruel hunter hunts down the male bird, that struggled and fell onto the ground .

Valmiki’s gaze fell upon this sight and compassion aroused in the kind hearted sage at the sight of the struggling male bird fallen and the piteous wailing of the female partner after being separated from her mate.

Valmiki witnessed all that had happened and involuntarily burst into a poetic verse, that seemed to flow out spontaneously.

It was in the form of a song with 4 lines.

This was the very first time a sloka was ever uttered by anyone. Manishada Pratistham........kamamohitam.

Which means you evil minded person who has cruelly killed the male pair of Krauncha birds while they revealed.

Just as you ended that birds life before time , so too you shall wilt before your time. This will not give you any happiness it’s only going to bring you sorrow. What do you think is the lesson learnt from this Slokam ?

The base of Ramayana begins with the understanding that.. ‘What we give is what we get back in return. This does not give us true happiness’ is what all of us should understand and learn .

What is the true meaning behind this? ...... we shall see in our tomorrow’s message
