If the practitioner restricts his food to not very gross, not very exciting, not very stimulating food, and brings about a certain control or selectivity in his food, then the entire structure of the body begins gradually to change from impurity to purity, from grossness to subtlety, from the Guna of Tamas and Rajas to greater and greater Sattva.
