1.
Dharma means one’s own inherent aptitude : -
To pursue one’s own inherent aptitude is sva-dharma and that of another is para-dharma. Suppose a young boy, very gifted in music, is forced by his parents to become a businessman.
He may make a lot of money as a businessman, but may not find true fulfilment.
On the other hand, if he becomes a musician, he would rapidly excel in his field and also find joy and satisfaction.
2.
Is peace of mind achieved through development of self-respect, right resolution or auto-suggestion? : -
All these are very helpful but they must be geared towards the ‘Real Truth’.
These qualities are displayed by many in certain areas of life.
A person may be very strong willed in following a strict diet, but may give in easily to the wrong demands of his child.
These qualities should not be restricted to a particular field.
One established in them will gain relative peace of mind and it could lead him to the Supreme ‘peace that passeth all understanding’.
3.
How can one handle the nasa (destruction) of things? : -
By understanding that there is no nasa – destruction.
There is only seeming nasa – for nothing can ever be created or destroyed.
Science too propounds this. What is actually happening is not nasa (destruction) but nasa (a dance of changing names and forms).
It is like the dance of the waves on the sea.
4.
Love the children. They alone are our only hope for the future. Let us try to leave in them some higher and nobler values. This done – we have then educated them for the highest achievements.
