Dharma means duties :
Each one of us has duties which come to us unasked,
depending on the status,
post and place that we are in.
For example, a student’s duty is to study.
To do one’s own duty is sva-dharma and to do another’s is para-dharma.
In settling a land dispute,
an evaluator is called in court.
His job is to evaluate the land and not pass judgment as to who it should belong to.
A clerk’s duty may be to write cheques.
He cannot sign them in the absence of his boss or forge his boss’s signature.
