True wealth is our own skill of being creative, soft and humorous in words and positive in reactions : Swami Udit Chaithanya

Navaratri is a festival full of lights, colour, Joy and festivity. Everywhere there is a mood of devotion and enthusiasm .This festival is spread over nine nights and ten days during which time communities and families get together. During this festival people invoke the blessings of the three Goddesses, Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Durga represents the quality of strength, Lakshmi represents prosperity and Saraswati represents knowledge. Goddess Durga or Shakti, symbolises the energy of the Universe in her 9 beautiful forms. Durga is not a “female God” but the embodiment of enthusiasm, motivation and inspiration in us.

We all want to achieve wealth in our life. What is the highest wealth or prosperity one could possibly achieve? To do that we need to overcome the Demon of inertia or laziness in us called “Mahishasura”. To kill him, we need to invoke the Durga or Kriya sakthi in us. Only if the Mahishasura of inertia is killed by the Durga of motivation and enthusiasm is there a possibility of reaching the Lakshmi of Prosperity and highest wealth.

True wealth is our own skill of being creative, soft and humorous in words and positive in reactions. Those who possess these skills are an asset to society and hence are loved and respected by others. All other type of wealth will disappear. However, the qualitative wealth of inner transformation earns us care and respect.

True wisdom comes through right relationships and friendships. Good friends always provide an impetus for positive transformation, while bad company would pull you down. The true wisdom that comes to us from good friends and alliances represent Saraswati. Saraswati is not only the Goddess of Knowledge but she also bestows wisdom. Without removing negative tendencies and without having the wealth of Love, Inner Peace and Calmness, one cannot attain Divine Knowledge. Only by purifying ourselves can we attain the path of WISDOM.

The weapons seen in Devi’s hand are all Symbolic and are used for the destruction of the Asuras within us. The Asuras and the Devas are all within us. Each one of us is on the Journey to destroy the negativities or Asuras and awaken the Positivities or Devas within. Our Original being is Purity or Divinity, unfortunately we are filled with negativities presently. We need to go back to our Original state . We should promise ourselves that we will welcome and use the Positive Energies within us. Developing our inner power to withdraw from our present tangled minds and attain equanimity at all times. Those who are able to reach this state will remain stable minded and can immediately find solutions to problems. When in any difficult situations, we should be able to tell ourselves that we are just playing a Role and the real “I” is not affected. This Festival is a reminder that the WHOLE is a process that happens within us. By accepting and letting go we destroy each of our negative energies. This results in us being more happy and peaceful. Each one of us is on this journey of destroying our Negativities and awakening of our Devika Samskaras. Presently we are filled with negativities. When we learn to withdraw, all negative emotions like hurt, pain, anger etc. change to Peace, happiness, positivity, stability and Clarity. Solutions become perfect. So let us make this Navaratri a festival which is of true VICTORY !! by consciously invoking the Energy aspect of all the three Goddesses. Let us make this a festival for purification of the mind with the removal of all negativities, Cultivation of positive virtues, Gaining of Spiritual Knowledge and transcending limitations. This is True Victory..... The Dance of Real Joy.
