We can connect each of the story from Ramayanam to our present life.

 ================================================================

1.

Ramayanam that starts with a curse given to a Hunter by Valmiki Maharshi. ... Maa Nishadha.... ....”Oh hunter No ! may you repent for life and suffer, find no rest for you have killed one from this pair of devoted and loving birds”

Today, for us it would mean we have ourselves shot and killed nature which is the bird and at the end bringing destruction to ourselves and to the coming generations. This will be the end result from our destructive qualities of disrespecting nature and without being consciously aware destroying the delicate balance which sustains life.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.

Government has a major role here because we do not have facilities in our education system to train and teach children the importance and value of protecting nature. We are not taught to Consciously protect nature.

As the degradation of nature reaches its peak the repercussions are there for all of us to see.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.

Maa Nishadha and Taan taan ........anubhavikanam is a popular statement in Ramayanam.

Any action you do whether good or bad comes back to you and your generations.

This is the truth.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4.

We are all responsible for this. People should be ready to understand these two messages from Ramayanam.

Even if we are ready to help what is the solution for all this ? There isn’t anybody to give us a solution.

We see extremes happen - where permission is given for everything eg. unending illegal mining.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5.

Since People do require necessities for construction etc Governments should strike a balance between the needs of people and necessity of protecting nature.

If all quarrying is stopped it becomes difficult for those who want to construct.... this would be an unintelligent move .

Government should take care of resources reaching the public.

Stop what needs to be stopped but where it is required make sure that it is available.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6.

The above two messages from Ramayanam should be spread to our children and society.

This would be the guidelines for them.

*Nature’s bird should not be shot down ( nature should be respected or taken care of )

*secondly if it is shot down then you need to face the consequences of your actions.

If we could pass on and teach this wisdom which is 5000 years old, it would be a guiding light for the coming generations.

*Thirdly, when we say we experience - what good can we do for nature?

By taking only necessities from Nature without harming nature. This is referred to as Dohanam - it means ..... like milking the cow.

Using the cow’s milk for ourselves only after giving a child (calf) what the child (calf) requires.

If we understand this and act accordingly then surely we will not trouble nature likewise we too will not be destroyed or troubled by nature.

May Ramayanam help us in learning such lessons.
