We have understood that Ramayanam is a Spiritual work. Here he speaks about the younger days of Sri Rama in Balakandam. Dhasharat Maharaj was miserable without having sons. By performing Putrakameshti Yagam he was blessed with 4 sons . He was unable to have sons the natural way but with the convenience of Putrakameshti Yagnam, he managed getting sons . Earlier generations understood the influence of spirituality for a person to have babies. Today with modern science we find different hormonal treatments for those unable to bare children. Though they may be able to bare kids these sort of treatments surely paves the path to bring in other diseases in the future. A girl becomes a mother but finally a mother becomes a patient. Many girls today are seen having thyroid problems, and other hormone related issues . To leave this unnoticed is not right. Is there any other alternative for this? Is there any way out for this ?

It’s high time our society thinks about this. Plenty of children in our society are struggling without kids, for this reason one major doing mentioned in Bhagavatham is the vratam told by Kashyap Maharshi to his wife is payovratham. Similarly the Putrakameshti Yagam. What is Putrakameshti Yagam? What came out of it, is what I would like to tell our present day children. We have to go deep into the subject and learn about it. Bharat’s Ayurveda similarly nature’s naturopathy like wise native traditional medicines etc has to be learnt by our children, only then can they have children who are healthy and mentally matured. From a healthy body moving to an unhealthy one and having kids from that will get us only unhealthy children This is the truth. It is not important to have children for the sake of having them but necessary to have healthy kids with good values. We should ask ourselves if we want kids like Markandan who lives for 16 years or an unhealthy child who lives for 100 years. Even if only 16 years of age, a child can influence the whole world . This does not mean that a child leading a life through naturopathy or Ayurveda will not have a long life . Rather do you need an intelligent child or a mentally challenged child? Naturopathy shastram is about having mentally and physically healthy children. From Naturopathy, Ayurveda and traditionally made native medicines let us obtain deep knowledge and be able to start a new stream of treatment. Let Ramayana lead us through that.
